Projection Mapping

Site-specific light on things that were not built for it.

A mannequin at the top of a staircase, lit so that his eyes open and embers run across the walls behind him, for the trick-or-treaters of one San Francisco street. The tree outside, mapped so its trunk and canopy carried their own weather. A wall in Rwanda. A house.

Projection mapping is the part of the studio that is literally about light: surveying a surface, building a model of it, lighting it so the thing itself seems to move, and leaving it the way we found it. The work is site specific and temporary. It lives for a night or a season, for the people who were there.
